Henry Ford and Fred Smith built "better mousetraps" and the world beat HUGE paths to their doors. What if? What if you could have had a crystal ball back then and seen the future for Fred Smith's little company called FedEx. If you had purchased only US $2,660 worth of FedEx in 1978, today that stock would be worth at LEAST US $1.3 MILLION !!
So why isn't everybody rich The simple truth is that most people fail to recognize GREAT IDEAS when they first appear. There is a pattern of thinking known as "herd mentality" that causes most people to simply follow the crowd like so many cattle. After all, if everyone else does a thing the same way it has to be right. Right? Wrong!!! It was, in fact, "herd mentality" that lead to the execution of numerous men and women, and the trials and imprisonment of many others during, the Salem Witchcraft Trials in 1692. It was herd mentality that brought dictators like Joseph Stalin and Adolph Hitler to power and enabled them to remain in power. It is often herd mentality that causes people to continue doing things the way everyone else is doing them, the way they have always done them, even when those methods no longer work and better options are available!
